Warning! Do not use this company to book a trip!

E have used Cheap Caribbean for many vacations, and if everything goes well, you will be fine. But, if there are any problems, good luck! You are on your own to make it work! We had a trip planned for November 2020 with Cheap Caribbean and also purchased enhanced insurance because we were told we could cancel for any reason and get a full refund. COVID hit and it was not safe to travel, so I called in September to cancel and our Hell began! When I called, I was told we would only get 75% of our money back, even with the insurance. I was even told to call the insurance company myself! Instead of loosing any money, I put the trip on credit with Cheap Caribbean so I wouldn't loose any of our money. When I called to rebook, I was told the credit had to be used by one date and the airline credit had to be used 5 months before that. They told me there was nothing they could do to extend my flight credit and I would have to call the airlines myself. Cheap Caribbean was my booking agent! They took my money, and yet when there was a problem, I was put in charge of calling all agencies involved. After more than 32 phone calls and emails and more than 38 hours on hold with Cheap Caribbean, the airlines, the insurance company, and the transportation company, we finally went on our trip! On top of all the issues, Cheap Caribbean booked us on Spirit airlines and never told us we had to pay extra for carry on bags, boarding passes, and seats! Also, our flight was changed without our knowledge and because of the change, we lost an entire day of our paid vacation. I was asked by one of the many customer service agents what I was asking for and I told her I would like an extra day at the resort to compensate us for the day we lost. That never happened, even though I met someone on the plane who received an extra day from them. On the Cheap Caribbean website it states they"are committed to your satisfaction, from the first click through your entire trip!" They are NOT! They take your money as the booking agent and then you are on your own! I had a contract with Cheap Caribbean and they did not honor it! Do not use them to book your trip!

This company is a fraud! BEWARE! Do not book!

We booked a trip yo Jamaica for our honeymoon over 6 months ago. Now all of a sudden everything changed. They booked wrong flights. On wrong dates. From wrong locations and are now refusing to refund us the $3,500 that we have spent. I am an attorney and I am stating clearly that their actions are illegal and in violation of US laws. There will be lawsuits filed. STAY AWAY!

Discussed with everything

Discussed with everything! They want money as much as they can. From the 5 times I've called only one person who genuinely helped me and was honest. Others lie not to refund money or lie and trick you into buying again the trip. Today was the last stra 3 hours waiting to be told I have to pay just for air fare same amount i paid for 7 day all inclusive fee.
Ill be complaining to the government page of us.gov travel for anyone who needs it is here

I even received a confirmation my reservation was confirmed by cheap Caribbean, when I called they said for non payment - gave them company card and they never bothered to run. I figured they had. I made 4 room reservation all but one she processed, the assistant at cheap carribbean did not run - so far two days of my vacation wasted due Cheap Caribbean terrible staff...I called they said they would fix. Still no fix going on day three!!

We had travel credits with Cheap…

We had travel credits with Cheap Caribbean for four from a cancelled trip last year due to covid. I carefully researched the trips we were planning and "knew" what they would cost. After significant time on the phone to book the trip I was given a total that significantly more costly than what I had researched.
Unfortunately, I had spent too much time on the phone (because their reservation process is cumbersome, at best) and I had to go to work. But, I was unclear that what was happening was an unchangeable reservation.
For the life of me, I do not understand why their reservation agents would see different prices than what is posted on their website. Unless it is to capture the extra cash flow from people. I'm now stuck spending hundreds more. It seems to me that their post-covid business model is to trick people who have outstanding credits into spending more than they had planned to.
So clearly, I've made two mistakes. My last mistake was I failed to understand what their agent was explaining to me in her broken English. But my first mistake was booking through Cheap Caribbean at all. You can bet that it will not happen again.
Now I'm stuck. Pay them more or lose all my credits. To make it even worse, I can't get anyone to let me know the balance owed so I can pay it. When I go to the reservation it only shows the totals, because for some reason their system will not apply the credits yet.
What a rip off!

Want to spend your vacation on hold use Cheap Caribbean

We booked our trip to a family wedding for two couples. Cheap Caribbean only sent one set of reservations. I was on hold for over an hour and Cheap Caribbean told me the problem was fixed. I checked the next day and it was not. Another hour long phone call finally got the problem resolved. Trip date May 7-12 2021 destination Catalonia Royal La Ramonia in the Dominican Republic.

I wish I could give them less than a…

I wish I could give them less than a star. It's hard to believe how bad their customer service is. As Stealers Wheel said it best "clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right..." I'm trying to figure out what to do next and could use any help/advice you can give. I had booked a travel package through Cheapcaribbean last year and after it blew up due to Covid I was given a travel credit for a future vacation for my wife and I. So far so good. I went to rebook it for this year (June-28-July3) using the room credit and the flight credit (American Airlines). After paying the difference I thought I was set. The problem is that when I went to check our seat assignments my wife was not assigned a seat for two legs of the flight. I can't change it online since there is not a seat to change. She does have a ticket but was never assigned a seat when Cheapcaribbean made the reservations. I contacted American Airlines and was told that Cheapcaribbean had to fix it as they booked the flight. They gave me two other options...American Airlines said I could pay $50 for them to assign her a seat or we could wait and get a seat assignment at the airport. Neither of those options are attractive but I guess paying the $50 is the better option of the two. When I call CheapCaribbean they of course deny any fault and say there is nothing they can do to fix it and that I should call American Airlines and around and around we go...stuck in the black hole of bad customer service.
It's not the money as $50 is not going to break me (though as a Virginia state employee working in a veteran care center married to a public school teacher we don't have loads of money) but it is infuriating how poorly I have been treated by both firms as a customer. Nobody could be bothered to care, especially at Cheapcaribbean who is supposed to be my "agent". They obviously have know idea what that word means.

I booked a trip with Cheap Caribbean on…

I booked a trip with Cheap Caribbean on 1/13/20 to go to Aruba from July 15th- July 21, 2020 under Booking ID- 326XXXXX. Due to covid and a lockdown in NY where we live we had to cancel our trip. A trip we would have loved to go on and hated to have to cancel. I reached out multiple times via email. Ultimately I had to call in and sit on hold for hours to get a live person to speak with. I was told that they will NOT issue a refund and the only option is to get a credit. Since i could not travel they issued the credit against my wishes. The credit was issued on Jan 13th, 2020 and it was for a full credit of the amount I spent. The problem is that I have to book a new trip by 7/13/21 and travel by 12/15/21 and now my wife and I are expecting a baby. We will obviously not be travelling as the pandemic is still an issue and I still have not received my refund as originally requested multiple times. MY MONEY IS BEING HELD HOSTAGE BY A SCAM. Using COVID to rob people.

Travel credit" after cancellation is useless and fraudulent

I purchased a vacation in OCT2020. Due to my being a doctor and needing to cover extra call shifts due to the COVID pandemic, I had to cancel my trip. I called to see if they would consider refunding me for my extenuating circumstances, fully understanding that their policy was only to issue credit. They declined to refund me and gave me the credit, which I was fine with.

But, they explicitly told me I would need to contact the air carrier to use the portion of my purchase that went toward flight tickets, and that I would need to contact Cheap Caribbean themselves to use the credit from the portion of my purchase that went toward lodging.

A few months later I tried to contact the air carrier. They tell me they actually refunded Cheap Caribbean fully for the flight they booked for me, at the time I canceled my trip. So obviously they can't give me any credit.

So I tried to contact Cheap Caribbean to figure this out. I sent them messages using their website, as well as emails, which they do not respond to. I called them several times and am placed on hold for as long as 2-3 hours each time. They drop my call, or they tell me there is no supervisor around who can help me, or they promise me a call back the next day -- which they do not actually do.

It is impossible to get a hold of them to discuss this aberrancy in my travel credit. So it is useless and the cancellation policy is bogus.

Cheapskates

In January 2020 we booked a trip for June 2020 and purchased the additional trip insurance. Due to covid-19 CheapCaribbean ended up having to cancel the flights. Since the destination is an island that's the only way we could get there. We spend hours upon hours contacting CheapCaribbean. They finally did a partial refund but told us we would have to contact TripMate for the insurance portion. After months of each company pointing us back to the other we were finally told to dispute with the credit card company. I'm sure they are aware credit credit companies will not do anything that long after the purchase. We are out close to $400 and will never do business with CheapCaribbean ever again.
